Window Displays Bring Top Honour For City Centre Store

A Limerick city centre store has been selected as having one of the top window displays in Ireland and the UK.

Shop@Panasonic, Shannon Street, was the only Irish shop to enter the competition, but the Limerick business, managed and owned by the Tuohy family, came second out of 50 shops that did battle for the coveted best Panasonic window display title.

Store manager Jean Tuohy said: "We were absolutely delighted. We decided to enter the competition as we were doing a window display anyway. The Head office sent us over a Point of Sale display, and it was up to each store to use them creatively."

Entering the competition before ChrIstmas, the staff' added a festive feel to the display.

"We went with a winter theme, with huge icicles and icebergs, and our products displayed on top. Obviously, we also
had some Christmas trees in the display," she said.

Jean sent off a selection of photos to PanasonicUK, and was delighted to hear a couple of weeks later that the shop had come second overall.

Shop@Panasonic were awarded a cheque for €l,100.00. "For me, in my fIrst year in the job, it was very special", Jean said.

Shop@Panasonic, which is owned by Brian and Helen Tuohy, who also own Savins, opened in 2003. It currently has four full-time staff.

"It is a great morale boost for us, and it is brilliant for a Limerickowned business to be recognised in this way, despite stiff competition," said Jean.
