Engineering summer camp for students at University of Limerick
Students from Limerick are being invited to apply to participate in an interactive engineering summer camp which will take place in University of Limerick (UL) in June.
The Explore Engineering Summer Camp is a University of Limerick initiative, which is supported by STEPS to engineering. The programme will be a week-long interactive activity based experience to introduce transition and fifth year students to various aspects of engineering. The "Explore Engineering Summer Camp" will run from June 12 to June 16 in UL.
The "Explor.e Engineering" experience will be a comprehensive programme, illustrating the excitement and challenge of engineering design with students gaining an understanding of the opportunities available in an invigorating University environment.
A range of activities has been scheduled in both individual and team the enjoyable aspects of engineering.
Programme Director Dr Bill Gaughran said: "Students on this programme are introduced to aspects of engineering in a new and exciting way. They gain an insight into engineering as a challenging, rewarding and caring profession. New career possibilities have opened up to previous camp participants because of their experience at Explore Engineering".
Students who participate in this Summer Camp will also have access to the recreational facilities at UL, including its 50 metre swimming pool, diving pool, sports hall and indoor jogging track.
The students can choose to participate on a residential or non residential basis, both of which comply with specnic supervisory criteria.
