Advice for SSIA holders
SSIA account holders were last week advised to shop around and be wary of accepting the first available offer of help from product providers.
The advise came at a special SSIA seminar for independent brokers held at the Radisson Hotel, Limerick.
Speaking at the seminar Diarmuid Kelly, chief executive of the Professional Insurance Brokers Association (PIBA) said: "As the advertising pages of newspapers will attest to, the competition between product providers for a slice of the €16 billion payout is intense."
"Product options are very diverse in range and it terms of what benefits can be delivered. Therefore, people need to consider carefully what type of product, or mix of options, best suits their own individual needs", he warned.
