Limerick Chamber Launches New Brand For A New Era
Limerick Chamber of Commerce this week launched its new brand under which it is changing its name to Limerick Chamber and adopting a new logo and corporate brand as part of a nationL al rebranding of accredited chambers of- commerce in Ireland.
Under the national rebranding, Chambers of Ireland and 45 accredited chambers including re- Limerick Chamber are taking on a common logo ta- and brand identity.
The new brand was this week formally launched by E.U. Commissioner Charlie Mc ler Creevy at Limerick Chamber offices.
Limerick Chamber chief executive Maria Kelly said, "The new brand will provide Limerick Chamber with a strong corporate image and endorse its position as an integral element of the national and international chamber network. "
Although all the chambers around Ireland shared common objectives and goals, the fact there were 59 different logos, some of which were 170 years old, helped obscure the shared ground.
The new identity presents chambers as a cohesive network with all the consequential benefits that entails, she said.
Adding to this, Marie continued: "Local chambers are at the 'heart of local business, helping companies to drive forward and secure the buoyancy of the locai economy and the new identity reflects this."
The New logo comprises a circular disk, the name of the chamber and the motto "In Business for Business."
On the disk, five curved figures represent a meeting or "network" of people, ideas, cultures and knowledge. The symbol represents the ethos of what the chambers stand for - being in business to help the business community on a local. national and international level.
Central to the design of the new logo was retaining some traditional elements of chambers. The gold stamp reflects the original function of chambers as "stamping" official documents and underpins the attitude that a document with a chamber "seal of approval" is legitimate.
"The new brand has been designed to represent the depth and diversity of the chamber and to underline our core values as a networking organisation that brings people together to achieve more for their business", she concluded.
