Live 95FM increasing its share of radio market
Limerick's Live 95FM is celebrating after it was announced that the station has increased its listenership to 47.5 per cent of the market share locally.
The announcement was made as a result of the JNLR MRBI listenership survey 2005 which showed that the UTV-owned station is now ranked higher in the city and county than both 2Fm and Today Fm put together.
Station chief executive, David Tighe said:
"The key figure for us is market share, which indicates the biggest slice of the pie for Live 95FM in it's history. It's a tremendous achievement for everyone here at the station, but we never lose our focus on the listeners.
"Our success is down to the fact that we are listeneing more to them and therefore they in turn are listening more to us. To put it into perspective, we have more listeners in Limerick Cith and County than 2Fm and TodayFm put together.
He said that the station is consistently striving to make it's coverage more relevant and has shaped it's programming to suit the people of Limerick.
"We have won world radio awards for our news and current affairs and have developed innivative new programming specifically for county Limerick."
"Although we're thrilled with today's results, we will continue to do more and more for our listeners across Limerick county and city."
