IPAV convention to be held in Limerick

 


The Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Michael McDowell, will be the guest of honour at IPAV's annual convention in the Dunraven Arms Hotel, Adare, on May 12 and 13.

The Minister, who has responsibility for regulation of the auctioneering profession, will address the convention dinner on May 12.

The agm and convention is the principal event in the annual IPAV calendar and this year's is promising to live up to the success of last year.

It will will see outgoing president Willie Farrell hand over the mantle of office to his successor, Limerick-based auctioneer John Shaw.

Guest speakers will be the president of the University of Limerick, Dr Roger Downer; Trinity College economist Dr Sean Barrett, and IT solutions expert Philip O'Reilly of Property CRM.

On the Saturday night, c there will be a farewell tribute to retiring chief executive Liam O'Donnell.

"This year's AGM & Convention will be a special occasion as it will be Liam O'Donnell's last as CEO. Liam has been the public face of IPAV for over 20 years and we all owe him a great debt of gratitude. I am looking forward to as many members as possible turning out for his farewell function," said Mr Farrell.
