Business Park's Tenants To Take Up Units Soon

The fIrst tenants of the new multi-million Westpark Shannon Business Park are due to arrive in the next few months.

Developer Brian O'Connell made his comments while giving a guided tour of the new facility to the former European Parliament president Pat Cox.

Under construction since February 2005, the initial phase of the development is nearing completion and will offIcially open its doors to its first tenants this summer.

Commenting on the 40 acre development in the heart of Shannon, Mr Cox said: "Even at this stage in its construction, it is very clear that Westpark is on course to becoming one of Europe's premier business parks and will eventually provide a million square foot of offIce and living space. Westpark is a bold and confIdent statement in the future of Shannon. It is literally changing the landscape of business".

Mr O'Connell said: "We are delighted to show Pat Cox around the development and to give him a full briefing on our progress. He has been very supportive of the development and recently addressed business leaders on our behalf in the IFSC on the benefits of working and living in the Shannon region.

"Westpark aims to be a flagship development that signifies a new spirit of growth, re-generation and confidence in Shannon. The arrival of our first tenants in the next few months is the next stage of this journey".
